Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
1 can 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (15 oz) can kidney beans drained and rinsed
  • 1 packet chili seasoning mix
  • 1 small onion

Method

  1. In a large pot over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion until the beef is browned and the onion is soft. Drain excess grease if needed.
  2. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, kidney beans, and chili seasoning.
  3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and let simmer for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning if desired.
  5. Serve hot with your favorite toppings like shredded cheese, sour cream, or crackers.

Notes

If you have extra time, let it simmer for 30-40 minutes instead of 20-25. The flavors get way better. Just add a little water if it starts getting too thick.
